Yes — this is a real wearable performance shirt.
The artistic lifestyle images throughout this listing are designed to help you imagine different ways to style the piece, but the actual product is the performance quarter-zip shown in the product photos and mockups.
Each shirt is made to order, meaning it is created specifically for you after purchase rather than sitting in a warehouse. This allows me to reduce waste while continuing to create a growing collection of original wearable artwork.
I am continually adding real-world photos, riding videos, and close-up fabric details as each design is photographed outdoors.
From the saddle to the sea.
Designed for riding, hiking, paddleboarding, kayaking, travel, gardening, fishing, beach days, and every sunny adventure in between.
Thank you for supporting a small artist-owned business. ❤️

Memento Vivere™
Remember to Live.
"Death is inevitable. Living is the part we get to choose."
Bones usually tell us that something has ended.
Flowers tell us something is still growing.
Blood tells us we were here.
And spirit asks the inconvenient question:
What are you going to do with the time between?
Memento Vivere™ was created around a simple idea hidden inside a very dark piece of artwork:
There is life in death.
Not as something tragic.
Not as something frightening.
As a reminder.
A black baroque horse rises through roses, lilies, antique silver, gemstones, skeletal ornaments, and electric currents of blue and violet.
Across its living body appears the suggestion of bone—mortality worn almost like ceremonial armor.
But the horse itself is not dead.
Quite the opposite.
It is powerful.
Moving.
Alive.
Memento Vivere.
Remember to live.
The Story Behind the Artwork
The phrase Memento Vivere is commonly understood as:
Remember to live.
It stands almost as a response to the better-known Memento Mori — remember that you must die.
One reminds us of mortality.
The other asks what we intend to do about it.
That tension became the foundation of this design.
The horse represents life in motion.
Not delicate life.
Not passive life.
The kind that rears, breathes, fights, heals, ages, scars, changes, and keeps moving anyway.
Across the black coat, skeletal imagery reveals what lies beneath every living thing.
Bone.
Structure.
Mortality.
But around it, flowers continue to bloom.
Jewels catch the light.
Metalwork curls through the composition.
Color refuses to disappear.
Throughout the artwork, each major color carries meaning.
Red represents blood.
The physical pulse of life.
Passion.
Heat.
The proof that something still lives beneath the surface.
Blue represents spirit.
The unseen part.
Memory.
Energy.
The things that remain difficult to explain and impossible to measure.
Purple represents dignity, sovereignty, and the value of life itself.
Historically associated with royalty, rarity, and ceremony, it gives the design a sense of reverence rather than darkness for darkness' sake.
And among all of it grow roses and lilies.
Life emerging beside mortality.
Beauty existing without pretending death does not.
The message is not:
Do not die.
None of us gets that option.
The message is much simpler.
While you're here... live.
The Artwork
The front of Memento Vivere™ centers on a powerful black baroque horse rising through an elaborate composition of bone, flowers, antique metalwork, jewels, and luminous color.
The horse's pose is proud and elevated, its neck arched with the dramatic presence associated with classical baroque horses.
Across the dark body, skeletal detailing appears almost like ceremonial body paint or armor — allowing the horse to remain visibly alive while carrying the imagery of mortality directly across its form.
Its head is surrounded by ornate jeweled tack, chains, ruby-red stones, violet gems, and antique metallic detailing.
The flowing mane moves through deep black, crimson, violet, and electric blue, blending into the surrounding composition rather than ending abruptly against the garment.
Around the horse bloom deep red roses, purple lilies, dark foliage, suspended gemstones, metallic scrollwork, and jewel-like ornament.
Electric blue lines move through the background like spirit, smoke, energy, or something just beyond physical form.
Rather than filling every inch equally, the artwork shifts dramatically across the garment.
One side remains darker and quieter, allowing the horse to dominate the composition.
The opposite side becomes increasingly botanical and ornate, carrying flowers, jewels, foliage, and metallic embellishment down the sleeve.
The quieter sleeve carries the Nadine & Ripley N&R emblem, framed like a piece of antique jewelry against the dark patterned ground.
The collar continues the botanical and jeweled detailing, bringing the composition upward around the neckline rather than abruptly ending at the shoulders.
Turn the shirt around...
…and the horse disappears.
What remains is the reminder.
The back is built around a long skeletal spine framed by dark flowers, red roses, purple blooms, silver filigree, hanging gemstones, and richly layered foliage.
Above it rests a crescent moon and star-like ornament, creating the impression of an old ceremonial relic or devotional object.
The spine runs vertically through the center of the garment, giving the entire back a strong architectural structure.
The flowers grow around it rather than covering it.
Life beside death.
Color beside bone.
Growth beside inevitability.
At the base, the composition narrows into ornate metallic filigree and suspended gemstones in red, violet, and blue.
The result feels less like a traditional back graphic and more like an elaborate gothic reliquary built directly into the garment.
The sleeves continue the story asymmetrically.
One is lush with roses, lilies, dark foliage, jewels, antique metalwork, and blue atmospheric linework.
The other remains deliberately quieter, allowing the N&R crest and dark patterned field to breathe.
Every part of the shirt carries the same visual language.
Bone.
Blood.
Spirit.
Flower.
Metal.
Horse.
Life.
Memento Vivere™ is not a design about death.
It is a design about remembering that being alive is temporary...
and therefore worth noticing.
