Púca’s Eve™ was born somewhere between autumn folklore, haunted roads, moonlit horses, and the wonderfully inconvenient truth that if a witch were offered a broomstick or a magnificent black horse...

well.

The Story Behind the Artwork

Long before Halloween became pumpkins on porches and candy at the door, autumn carried older stories.

Stories of changing seasons.

Of harvest fires.

Of spirits wandering after dark.

Of roads that seemed different beneath moonlight.

And of creatures that belonged neither entirely to our world nor entirely beyond it.

Among the legends of Irish folklore is the Púca — a mysterious shapeshifting spirit often associated with wild places, nighttime encounters, mischief, and forms that could include a great dark horse.

Sometimes troublesome.

Sometimes strange.

Sometimes helpful.

Never entirely predictable.

Which, frankly, sounds suspiciously equestrian already.

Púca’s Eve™ takes inspiration from that old folklore without attempting to retell any single legend.

Instead, it imagines a night when the boundary between ordinary and enchanted has become just thin enough for something ancient to slip through.

A black horse appears beneath an enormous autumn moon.

Lanterns burn beside forgotten gates.

Ghosts linger in the mist.

Bats cross the sky.

And somewhere beyond the cemetery road, a rider has already mounted.

Because dawn is coming.

And there is still time for one more ride.

The Artwork

The front of Púca’s Eve™ is dominated by a magnificent black horse emerging from a haunted autumn landscape beneath an enormous glowing jack-o’-lantern moon.

The horse is rendered with deep charcoal shadows, flowing mane, and elaborate antique-inspired tack accented with aged bronze, subtle skull details, and ornamental metalwork.

Around it, twisted branches climb through smoky darkness while burnt-orange leaves drift through the scene.

Wrought-iron gates.

Old lanterns.

Spiderwebs.

Bats.

Gravestones disappearing into fog.

Small glowing pumpkins hidden near the lower artwork.

Nothing sits alone.

Every detail becomes another fragment of the same strange autumn night.

The back features a mysterious witch mounted on a powerful black horse beneath a blazing harvest moon.

Her silver hair and dark riding attire move through the scene like smoke while the horse carries her forward through cemetery gates, lantern light, twisted trees, wandering spirits, and autumn leaves.

Hidden quietly within the artwork is a small confession:

Some witches prefer horses.

Not every detail in Púca’s Eve™ is meant to announce itself immediately.

Some are meant to be discovered.

Across the sleeves, moonlit gothic imagery continues in long vertical compositions of twisted branches, bats, webbing, old lanterns, celestial details, weathered autumn leaves, and ornate equestrian elements.

Rather than repeating the heavier pumpkin imagery of the body artwork, the sleeves were designed to create breathing room — darker, narrower, and more architectural, allowing the main scenes to remain the focus.

A vintage-inspired shoulder crest quietly preserves a little of the design’s original humor:
